Since time began, children (and adults too of course), have loved nothing more than a woodland adventure, to build a den, play in the mud, concoct new games and have brilliant fun in the great outdoors.
A “Venture into the Woods” outdoor adventure party offers all of these exciting and wonderful things as an action-packed woodland expedition. Everyone taking part will discover a wide range of outdoor activities, to encourage the participant’s curiosity and awareness through exploration, discovery and role play. We offer parties for mixed abilities and all age groups.
Some of the amazing activities you can expect are:
- Fire Lighting WITHOUT Matches
- Shelter Building
- Rope Swings
- Making Bows and Arrows
- Parachute games
- Team building exercises
- Treasure hunts
- Go on a bug hunt
- Walk the plank like a pirate
- A great Bear hunt
- Camouflage Paint
- Tug of War
- Backwoods cooking from Toasting marshmallows to Chocolate Bananas and making hot chocolatte with a Kelly Kettle
Activities will depend on the age of the children, and the area designated for play, but Venture into the Woods will ensure that your adventure party is memorable. Each event will be individually created to suit your requirements, and to ensure that your child will never forget his woodland party experience.
The concept behind Venture into the Woods was created by Andrew Myers-Nobbs, who has been involved in scouting for more than 30 years, together with Derek Chambers, also having more than 25 years scouting experience, and between them they have a wealth of experience working with children from 6 years of age to young adults.
Our outdoor party adventures offer a fantastic opportunity for your child to discover the thrill of the great outdoors. This is definitely the party for children who love open air exploits, playing games, scavenging and building dens. Let’s encourage the kids to be active and experience this unique opportunity to connect with nature.
We asked Derek if he could provide a fun Birthday party for our 8 year old son. Del ran a party for just over 2 hours in the local woods with 12 children altogether. It was absolutely fantastic – the children loved the party and his older brother was already interested in having something similar. The parents that stayed thought it was a great idea to the traditional party in the hall and or at the house. The activities included den building, team games, making food over an open fire which consisted of smores and chocolate and marshmallows bananas. They finished up making hot chocolate using Kelly Kettles.
We then asked Derek to run another party for his older brother (12) and a total of 15 kids which was just as fun and included rope swings, team building games making fires without matches and cooking food over the fire and making hot drinks. The best bit was the snow. Both parties were well run
Not just an ordinary party an ad”venture” party in the woods
